SSC Napoli players meet fans in Castel di Sangro

On 20 October, four SSC Napoli footballers – Giovane, Mazzocchi, Contini and Marianucci – gathered in the main square of Castel di Sangro for a fan‑interaction event. Mayor Angelo Caruso opened the session, thanking the young athletes and noting that the weather had improved.

The players answered questions about their recent transfers, personal ambitions and experiences in Italy. Giovane, a 2003‑born Brazilian, described his Napoli offer as a childhood dream and expressed excitement about playing in the Champions League. Marianucci recalled the surprise of receiving his contract in February and the emotional call he made to his parents. Mazzocchi emphasized the club’s role in helping foreign players feel at home, while Contini highlighted the strength of Brazilian attackers.

The gathering underscored the strong connection between the club and the local community, with the mayor praising the historic city’s 2,500‑year legacy and the players encouraging fans to continue supporting Napoli.
