SSC Napoli reaffirms confidence in Allegri amid early season crisis
SSC Napoli is facing a period of significant instability following five defeats in their first nine official matches of the 2026-2027 season. The club's recent 1-0 loss to Venezia, where Che Adams scored the decisive goal and Kevin De Bruyne missed a penalty, has intensified pressure on the management and coaching staff.
Despite the poor results, the club has officially reaffirmed its confidence in manager Massimiliano Allegri. However, reports indicate a tense atmosphere within the club, with Allegri's position described as precarious. President Aurelio De Laurentiis has not contacted alternative coaches, but the team's performance remains below expectations.
The upcoming schedule is viewed as critical for the manager's future. Napoli faces decisive fixtures against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League and Roma in Serie A. Continued negative results in these matches could prompt the board to consider a change in leadership.
