SSG.COM reports 12% growth in July grocery sales

SSG.COM reported a 12% year-on-year increase in grocery sales for July, driven by enhanced delivery systems and synergy with E-mart. The company is focusing on diversifying its delivery options by optimizing scheduled deliveries and expanding immediate delivery services.

Key growth drivers include ‘SSG Weekly Delivery,’ which saw a 17% revenue increase in Q2, and ‘Baro Quick,’ an immediate delivery service that saw orders jump 151% in Q2 compared to Q1. SSG.COM is also piloting a ‘2-hour delivery’ service and plans to expand this to approximately 50 stores by the end of the year, aiming for a daily processing capacity of 150,000 orders.

The company’s paid membership, ‘SSG7 Club,’ has maintained a retention rate above 90%. Membership users demonstrate higher engagement, with average transaction values 90% higher than non-members and purchase frequencies approximately double those of non-members.
