SSL Team Brazil conducts training in Switzerland for 2026 Gold Cup
SSL Team Brazil, led by Robert Scheidt, has completed a five-day training session in Grandson, Switzerland, to prepare for the SSL Gold Cup 2026. The training took place on Lake Neuchâtel and involved using the SSL47 boats, which are described as complex and physically demanding.
The Brazilian team shared the training period with the South African national team, captained by Ian Ainslie. The sessions focused on improving maneuvers, communication, speed, and starts. A key objective was integrating new crew members into the team's dynamics and refining communication protocols among the ten sailors to prevent overlapping commands.
The SSL Gold Cup 2026 will conclude its final phase in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between November and December. The Brazilian team has already secured a spot in the quarterfinals.
