St. Albans home damaged by fire at former cannabis grow site

A fire caused significant damage to a home on Denbow Road in St. Albans, Maine, on Wednesday afternoon. The 1.5-story residence was reported to have flames on both floors, and firefighters utilized approximately 100,000 gallons of water to combat the blaze.

Fire officials noted that the building's layout and its former use as a marijuana cultivation site presented challenges during the interior attack. While the property was previously used for cannabis growing, a spokesperson for the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy stated that no one is currently or has been licensed or registered to grow marijuana at that specific address.

No occupants were found trapped in the building. The Office of State Fire Marshal has been requested to investigate the cause of the fire.
