St. Anne indulgence attracts thousands of faithful across Poland

On 26 July 2026, several Polish parishes celebrated the annual indulgence (odpust) dedicated to Saint Anne. In the basilica of Saint Anne in Kodeń, about three thousand worshippers gathered for a Mass presided over by Fr Piotr Furman OMI, followed by a rosary pilgrimage for children. In Radomsko’s parish of Saint Roch, Fr Mariusz Bakalarz led a homily that highlighted patience and trust in God, drawing a large local congregation. At Saint Marcin’s parish in Jarocin, the indulgence included prayers for police officers and grandparents, with the police holiday on 24 July noted, and Fr Henryk Sikora officiated the ceremony.

The events emphasized Saint Anne’s role as the mother of Mary and patroness of families, encouraging believers to emulate her faith and patience. Participants also offered prayers for police forces and elderly relatives, linking the religious observance to broader community concerns.
