St. Augustine’s College and Accra Academy advance to NSMQ 2026 Grand Finale

The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) semi-finals have determined the finalists for the grand finale.

In one contest held at the University of Cape Coast, St. Augustine’s College secured a dominant victory over Prempeh College and Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. St. Augustine’s College took a significant lead during the ‘Problem of the Day’ round and maintained momentum through the final stages, finishing with 48 points to Prempeh College’s 37 and Pope John SHS & Min. Sem.’s 28.

In a separate semi-final, Accra Academy achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the NSMQ Grand Finale for the first time. The Accra-based school finished with 54 points, surpassing Bright Senior High School, which earned 44 points, and Achimota School, which scored 43 points. Accra Academy will join St. Augustine's and PRESEC in the upcoming championship contest.
