St Carlo Acutis relics visited by students in Melbourne

Approximately 500 students at Antonine College in Pascoe Vale South, Melbourne, gathered to venerate the relics of St Carlo Acutis. The event was part of a Catholic Church-approved missionary visit to Australia intended to inspire young people.

The relics on display included strands of hair and pieces of the pericardium, kept in metal reliquaries. During the mass, students were blessed by Father Eli Yammine and Sister Veronique Karam. Participants also wrote prayers to be sent to the saint’s tomb in Assisi, Italy.

Carlo Acutis, who died of leukaemia in 2006 at age 15, was canonised in 2025. Known as the first Millennial saint, he was recognized for using social media and websites to evangelise and document Eucharistic miracles.
