St. Cloud man pleads guilty to armed robberies

A 26-year-old man, Abdiaziz Omar Mohamed, has pleaded guilty to two counts of 1st-degree aggravated robbery in Stearns County District Court. Mohamed has requested an interim commitment to prison while awaiting his formal sentencing later this fall.

The first incident occurred last November in St. Cloud during a Facebook Marketplace transaction. A victim reported that while attempting to sell a PlayStation 5, Mohamed took the console and pointed a handgun at the victim's chest, threatening to shoot him before fleeing.

Six days later, Mohamed was involved in a second robbery attempt at an impound lot. After being denied his vehicle due to insufficient payment, Mohamed allegedly confronted an attendant with a gun. Following a felony traffic stop, officers arrested Mohamed without incident.
