St Davids nurse-led health services face uncertain future

The Hywel Dda University Health Board has launched a consultation regarding the future of nurse-led medical services in St Davids, Wales. The current branch surgery, operating out of Shalom House, faces potential closure as the building is scheduled to be sold and will no longer be available after September 30.

Meddygfa Penrhyn, the general practice managing the service, has proposed consolidating operations at its main site in Solva, located approximately 3.4 miles away. The practice suggests that moving to a single site would allow for more integrated care by having GPs, nurses, and administrative staff working together in one location.

The consultation period runs from August 24 until October 16. Residents, patients, and carers are encouraged to provide feedback via online questionnaires, paper forms, or email. A public drop-in event is also scheduled for September 23 at St Davids City Hall to allow community members to meet with representatives and ask questions.
