St Dominic Savio Church holds inaugural Mothers’ Seminar in Kiphire

St Dominic Savio Church in Kiphire hosted its inaugural two-day Mothers’ Seminar on September 11 and 12. Held under the theme “Strong Mothers, Strong Homes and Strong Faith,” the event focused on spiritual renewal, fellowship, and personal formation for the parish mothers.

Led by Rev Fr Thomas Toretkiu, the seminar addressed various aspects of domestic and spiritual life. Sessions included discussions on the importance of the Rosary as a tool for family unity and the concept of “spiritual warfare,” where Fr Toretkiu identified internal issues like anger, jealousy, and alcoholism as the true enemies within a household.

The program also emphasized mental health and well-being, noting the interconnectedness of a mother’s physical and mental state. Fr Toretkiu highlighted the necessity of self-care, stating, “When a mother breaks, the family breaks.” The final sessions covered parenting challenges in the digital age, specifically the influence of mobile technology, and the importance of fostering connection with children.
