St. Gallen prepares for St. Galler Fest 2026 with traffic and safety measures

The St. Galler Fest is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, 2026. The large-scale event is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors to the city center of St. Gallen.

To ensure safety and smooth operations, the St. Gallen City Police will increase their presence and implement various security measures. This includes road closures and traffic restrictions. The city center between Schibenertor and Brühltor will be closed to individual traffic from Friday at 12:00 until Sunday at 05:00. Public transport and taxis will face restrictions on Friday from 17:00 and Saturday from 16:00 until approximately 05:00 the following morning.

Public transport will be rerouted via Unterer Graben, with temporary stops established at Unterer Graben and Torstrasse. Authorities recommend using public transportation to attend the festival. Additionally, a strict ban on drones over crowds is in effect, regardless of the drone's weight, to mitigate safety risks.
