St Gregory’s College students suspended over sexual assault allegations

Two 17-year-old senior students from St Gregory’s College in Campbelltown have been suspended following allegations of a group sexual assault in Sydney’s Macarthur region.

Police allege that a primary suspect took an underage girl to a residence after drinking at a pub, where he assaulted her while she was unwell. He then allegedly summoned two friends via text, leading to repeated assaults by all three teenagers. The primary suspect faces 11 charges, including six counts of aggravated sexual assault in company, and has not applied for bail. The other two teenagers face eight and two charges respectively and have been granted bail under strict conditions.

St Gregory’s College principal Matthew Brennan issued a letter to the community stating that disciplinary action has commenced in accordance with school policy. He emphasized the school’s responsibility for student safety, noting that students charged with serious criminal offences are not permitted on campus while proceedings are ongoing. It is currently unclear if the third accused teenager, who attends Elderslie High School, has faced similar disciplinary action.
