St Helens faces injury and suspension crisis

St Helens faces significant roster challenges as they approach the final three matches of the Super League regular season. Interim coach Eamon O’Carroll confirmed that winger Lewis Murphy will miss the remainder of the regular season due to injury sustained against Wakefield Trinity.

Adding to the squad's difficulties, scrum-half and recent on-field leader Jackson Hastings has received a three-match ban. The suspension follows a red card issued during a match against Castleford Tigers after Hastings punched Tyler Dupree. Hastings will be unavailable for the upcoming fixtures against Leeds Rhinos, Leigh Leopards, and Hull KR.

Despite these setbacks, there are signs of recovery for other players. Curtis Sironen is progressing well with a knee injury and is expected to participate in training soon, while Mark Percival is being monitored for a potential return to the lineup. The club must now manage a reshuffle in the halves to maintain its position in the standings as it pushes for a play-off spot.
