St Helens housing appeal set for 14 October

Breck Homes and Northern Trust have been assigned an appeal hearing date of 14 October to contest a planning refusal in St Helens. The proposed development involves the demolition of a property on Fleet Lane to make way for 52 homes on a four-acre site in Parr.

The original application, submitted in March 2025, was rejected in November on six specific grounds. These included concerns regarding Green Belt development, failure to comply with the Bold Forest Area Action Plan, inadequate housing mix, highway width and access issues for large vehicles, and insufficient ecological and biodiversity information. A decision on the appeal is expected by 26 January 2027.
