St. John Bosco and Bishop Gorman to face off in top-ranked football matchup

high school football Bishop Gorman St. John Bosco national rankings HSFA 300

The 2026 high school football season features a marquee matchup between the nation's top two ranked teams. No. 1 St. John Bosco from California is scheduled to face No. 2 Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas at Fertitta Field.

Bishop Gorman coach Brent Browner noted that the scheduling of this matchup was made possible by the move of 30 Clark County School District teams to play as independents, which provided greater flexibility in the Gaels' schedule. This game marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2016.

Other notable results from the High School Football America 300 opening weekend include McEachern's 40-10 victory over Kell in Georgia, highlighted by a standout performance from Casey Barner.
