St Joseph’s College principal addresses school misconduct allegations
Following allegations of sexual assault at Scots College and reports of chaos in schools, Michael Blake, the principal of St Joseph’s College in Sydney, delivered an all-school speech addressing the scrutiny facing the education of young men.
In his address, Blake acknowledged the difficulty of the situation and noted that while it has been a tough time for men, it is “infinitely harder to be a female.” The situation has prompted discussions regarding the effectiveness of school-based respectful relationship training, with some arguing that such curriculum interventions occur too late in a child's development to be fully effective.
