St Kilda nearing signing of veteran forward Jake Stringer

St Kilda is reportedly close to signing veteran forward Jake Stringer as a delisted free agent. The 32-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at the club on Monday as negotiations escalate.

Stringer, who played for the Western Bulldogs, Essendon, and most recently the GWS Giants, recorded 48 goals during the 2026 season. He was delisted by GWS as the club moves toward a generational reset. Stringer brings significant experience to the Saints, having recorded 440 career goals across 250 matches.

If the deal is finalized, Stringer will join former recruiting manager Simon Dalrymple's former player Jack Macrae at St Kilda. The move would provide offensive depth for a Saints team that finished 11th in 2026.
