St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots defeat Barbados Tridents in CPL run-fest

The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots secured their first home victory of the Caribbean Premier League season at Warner Park, defeating the Barbados Tridents by six wickets.

The Tridents initially took control after Quinton de Kock scored a century, hitting 106 runs from 54 balls, supported by Zachary Carter’s 57. The Tridents posted a total of 217 for 4.

In response, Johnson Charles led the Patriots' chase with a 78-run innings off 45 to 48 deliveries. His performance included seven sixes and six fours. The innings featured a moment of controversy when a third-umpire decision was overturned, allowing Charles to remain at the crease after an initial dismissal.

Following Charles' departure, Dasun Shanaka (36) and Jason Holder helped stabilize the chase. The Patriots eventually reached 220 for 4, aided by a rapid 35-run burst from Andre Fletcher and Wanindu Hasaranga in the final overs, marking one of the highest successful run chases in CPL history.
