St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and Unifor reach tentative agreement

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) and the union Unifor have reached a tentative agreement following several months of collective bargaining. The deal covers 320 employees within the Maintenance and Operations and Engineering and Supervisory groups. These workers are responsible for facilitating vessel transit through the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic Ocean.

Jim Athanasiou, President and CEO of SLSMC, stated that the agreement supports a sustainable future for the Seaway and the industries it serves. The agreement is currently subject to ratification by union members.
