St. Louis and surrounding Missouri areas offer diverse cultural and historical attractions, ranging from the iconic Route 66 to unique interactive museums.

Route 66, which has its birthplace in Springfield, Missouri, is seeing increased interest from both domestic and international travelers ahead of its centennial anniversary. Notable landmarks along the route include Blueberry Hill, a music club and pop culture museum, as well as historic sites like Crown Candy Kitchen and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.

In downtown St. Louis, the City Museum provides a distinct cultural experience. Housed in the former International Shoe Company factory, the museum features interactive art installations, tunnels, and caves created from industrial materials. The site has evolved since opening in the 1990s and continues to incorporate new elements, such as components from demolished local structures.
