St. Louis Blues Robert Thomas NHL team captain leadership group

The St. Louis Blues have named center Robert Thomas as the 25th captain in franchise history for the 2026-27 NHL season. The 27-year-old, an Aurora, Ontario native, succeeds former captain Brayden Schenn, who was traded to the New York Islanders during the previous season's trade deadline.

Thomas, a 2017 first-round pick, enters his ninth season with the team. He has been a consistent performer, recording 460 points in 530 games and contributing to the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup championship. In the 2025-26 season, he recorded 25 goals and 64 points in 64 games.

In addition to Thomas, the Blues announced a new leadership group consisting of four assistant captains: defensemen Colton Parayko and Philip Broberg, and forwards Jake Neighbours and Dylan Holloway.
