Milwaukee Brewers defeat St. Louis Cardinals 3-2

The Milwaukee Brewers secured their 102nd win of the season, a major league-leading total, with a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field. Brice Turang provided the decisive blow, hitting a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning off Cardinals pitcher Quinn Mathews.

This game marked the first appearance of Christian Yelich as the franchise’s newly named captain. While Alec Burleson hit a solo home run to give the Cardinals an early 2-0 lead, the Brewers responded in the third inning. Dustin May, pitching for Milwaukee after being acquired from St. Louis in August, allowed two runs over three innings.

The Brewers' victory follows an 8-4 win on Friday night, where Turang also contributed with a tiebreaking two-run single. The Cardinals' season concludes this weekend, with the Brewers having already clinched the best record in MLB.
