St. Louis Cardinals players see significant growth in 2026 season

The St. Louis Cardinals' offensive and prospect outlook for the upcoming season features standout performances from several key players. Alec Burleson established himself as the team's full-time first baseman following the trade of Willson Contreras, recording career highs in home runs (26) and runs batted in (116) with a .279 batting average.

Top prospect Rainiel Rodriguez has seen a significant rise in rankings, moving to No. 10 on the MLB Pipeline top 100 prospects list. After a dominant season in High-A and Double-A, Rodriguez finished his final 36 games with Double-A Springfield hitting .417 with 14 home runs. The organization is considering expanding his defensive versatility, potentially at third base.

Additionally, catcher Leo Bernal showed promise during his September call-up, hitting .284 with a 124 wRC+ and five home runs, drawing comparisons to the well-rounded play of former backstop Yadier Molina.
