St. Louis CITY SC acquires Charles-Émile Brunet and Damion Downs on loan
St. Louis CITY SC has bolstered its roster through two significant loan acquisitions. The club has acquired Canadian midfielder Charles-Émile Brunet on loan from Nashville SC for the remainder of the season. The deal includes an option to purchase and involved St. Louis sending $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money to Nashville. Sporting director Corey Wray noted that Brunet provides technical depth and versatility to the midfield.
Additionally, St. Louis CITY SC has signed forward Damion Downs on a season-long loan from English side Southampton. The agreement includes a purchase option at the end of the 2027 MLS season. To facilitate the move, St. Louis provided Charlotte FC with $350,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money for Downs’ Discovery Priority. Downs, a former U.S. Men’s National Team player, is expected to add pace and athleticism to the club's attack.
