St. Louis City signs Danish forward Carlo Holse for $6 million
St. Louis City announced the signing of 27‑year‑old Danish attacker Carlo Holse from Turkish club Samsunspor for an estimated $6 million transfer fee. The move makes Holse a designated player and is intended to bolster a St. Louis offense that has scored only 19 goals this season.
Holse arrived after posting eight goals and four assists in the Turkish Super Lig last season and contributing two goals and five assists in ten UEFA Conference League matches. He has recorded at least eight goals per season with Samsunspor since 2023 and holds one cap for Denmark. Over nine professional seasons in Denmark, Norway and Turkey, he has amassed 42 goals and 36 assists in 242 matches, including a season of 16 assists for Norway’s Rosenborg.
St. Louis City sits 5‑6‑4 with 19 points, tenth in the Western Conference and one point behind the Los Angeles Galaxy for the final playoff spot with 19 matches remaining. Holse will join fellow attacker Marcel Hartel in the club’s dual No. 10 slots under head coach Yoann Damet’s 3‑4‑2‑1 formation. The club faces the Galaxy on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
