Parole Board mandates halfway house residency for Brian Abrosimo
The Parole Board of Canada has ruled that Brian Abrosimo, 63, must continue living in a supervised halfway house. Abrosimo was originally sentenced in 2006 to over 14 years in prison for crimes including sexual assault, kidnapping, and assault with a weapon. One of his victims was an 11-year-old girl in Aldergrove.
Since his release from prison in 2010, Abrosimo has been under a long-term supervision order (LTSO) that restricts him to community residential facilities. He has repeatedly violated the terms of his supervision, leading to several returns to prison. Most recently, his behavior was described as “off baseline” after he refused to provide urine samples and admitted to using cocaine and unprescribed medications.
Following these violations, the board considered whether to extend his residency conditions. The board ultimately decided to extend the requirement for him to live in a supervised halfway house for another year, which includes a mandate to return to the facility every night with no overnight absences allowed.
