St. Louis postal worker indicted for allegedly dumping 30,000 pieces of mail

Armond Paige, a 54-year-old postal worker in St. Louis, has been federally indicted for allegedly discarding at least 30,000 pieces of mail in vacant, overgrown lots instead of delivering them.

The indictment, issued in U.S. District Court, alleges the activity occurred while Paige was working at the Maryville Gardens Post Office on Meramec Street between 2024 and April 2026. Paige has pleaded not guilty to one count of delaying or destroying mail by a postal employee.

Federal prosecutors have not specified the contents of the discarded mail, and the indictment does not allege election interference or political motives. If convicted, Paige faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
