St. Luke’s and Pennsylvania officials warn of MyChart phishing scam
St. Luke’s University Health Network and Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday have issued warnings regarding a nationwide phishing campaign targeting MyChart users. Scammers are utilizing MyChart branding and names to deceive individuals through fraudulent emails, text messages, and phone calls.
The fraudulent communications often promise free health packages, Medicare-related benefits, or other promotions to create a sense of urgency. These messages aim to trick recipients into clicking malicious links or providing sensitive personal and financial information.
Officials emphasize that MyChart and St. Luke’s will not unexpectedly contact patients to request passwords or sensitive data. There is currently no indication that the MyChart platform itself has been compromised; rather, cybercriminals are misusing its identity. Patients are advised to access MyChart only through official apps or websites and to change passwords immediately if they suspect they have interacted with a scam.
