St. Maarten selected as secret travel destination for Colombian tourists

St. Maarten has been officially revealed as the secret destination for the third edition of ‘Destino Oculto’, an innovative travel experience organized by the Colombian low-cost airline Wingo. Approximately 400 visitors from Bogotá and Medellín arrived at Princess Juliana International Airport on October 22 to begin a four-day trip.

The initiative is a strategic collaboration between the St. Maarten Tourism Office, the Saint-Martin Office de Tourisme, and Princess Juliana International Airport, working alongside Wingo and the Okana Group. The goal is to introduce the island to a new audience of South American travelers by showcasing its blend of Dutch and French Caribbean cultures, world-famous beaches, and culinary scene.

The ‘Destino Oculto’ concept involves travelers purchasing vacation packages without knowing their final destination until shortly before arrival, combining the excitement of a surprise trip with carefully selected local activities.
