St. Martin in the Fields School to close in Belgrano

St. Martin in the Fields School, a private bilingual institution in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires, has announced it will cease operations at the end of the 2026 school year. Founded in 1992 by psychopedagogue Liliana G. de Piccinini, the school provides initial, primary, and secondary education.

The decision stems from a combination of factors, including the inability to renew the building's lease and a sustained decline in enrollment over the last six years, which resulted in a loss of more than 120 students. This decline created a progressive economic imbalance that made it impossible for the institution to guarantee the continuity of its educational project.

Currently serving approximately 350 students, the school has assured families that all academic activities and planned projects will continue normally through the end of 2026. The Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires has initiated an accompaniment scheme to assist families in finding vacancies in other establishments for the 2027 school year.
