Year-round skiers in Colorado are facing challenges as summer snowfields, such as St. Mary’s Glacier, continue to shrink due to a warming climate. Local enthusiasts who maintain monthly skiing streaks are observing the rapid disappearance of the perennial snow.

Jordan Lipp, who has skied the 1.3-mile hike to the glacier since 1996, noted that the snowmelt is occurring much faster than previously anticipated. Similarly, Richard Jones, a resident of Grand Lake, has maintained a skiing streak for 204 consecutive months. Both individuals have observed changes in the landscape and an increase in the number of people visiting the area in recent years.
