St. Paul Union Depot evacuation following market melee

Thousands of people were evacuated from the St. Paul Union Depot on Saturday night during the Bundal Halal Fall Market. The event, which featured over 100 Muslim vendors, was cut short around 9 p.m. after fights reportedly broke out.

While initial reports suggested shots may have been fired, St. Paul police stated they found no evidence of gunfire and confirmed that no injuries occurred. Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher indicated during a livestream that the incident might be gang-related, noting that law enforcement had been monitoring social media for potential gang activity.

Organizers of the market issued an apology for the disruption and stated they are working with police to address the situation. Some attendees raised concerns regarding the level of security at the ticketed event.
