St. Petri parish celebrates four historic anniversaries

The St. Petri parish in Burgwedel is celebrating four simultaneous anniversaries totaling 813 years of history during a festival weekend on October 3 and 4, 2026.

The milestones include 350 years of preaching from the current pulpit, 333 years of the hourly bell, 100 years of the funeral bell, and 30 years of the Collon organ. The festivities feature children's church services, tower tours, a lecture by Pastor Bodil Reller, and a concert by the Handbell Choir of the Gartenkirche Hannover. On Sunday, retired Regional Bishop Dr. Detlef Klahr will deliver a festive sermon from the 350-year-old pulpit.
