St. Pölten Women's Run raises record 30,000 euros for charity
The 20th edition of the Lower Austrian Women's Run in St. Pölten raised a record-breaking 30,000 euros for charitable causes. More than 3,200 participants took part in the event held around the local lake landscape.
For every participant, ten euros were donated to Krebshilfe Niederösterreich (Lower Austria Cancer Aid) and the Austrian Red Cross stem cell donation program. The event offered various distances, including 9.8 km, 5.2 km, and 2.5 km running routes, as well as a 5.2 km Nordic walking course and shorter tracks for children.
Organizers emphasized that the event aimed to promote daily physical activity, increase the visibility of women in sports, and foster a sense of community. A special feature of this year's run included a two-generation category, where teams with at least a 20-year age difference competed together.
