German schools launch new academic year with orientation events
Various educational institutions across Germany are marking the start of the new school year with diverse activities. Schools such as Bachschloss-Schule in Bühl and a gymnasium in Wiesentheid held welcoming ceremonies for new fifth-grade students, featuring student-led programs, tours, and community integration activities.
To support student development, Gymnasium Haan has implemented a ‘Rolling Reading Hour’ to promote literacy across all subjects. Meanwhile, vocational orientation remains a priority; the St. Thomas Realschule plus in Andernach hosted a career fair with nearly 40 regional companies, and the St. Ursula-Realschule in Dorsten held its twelfth annual training fair, featuring approximately 55 institutions to help students explore apprenticeship opportunities and secure internships.
