St. Vincent and the Grenadines expands tourism and aviation sectors

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is experiencing significant momentum in its tourism and aviation sectors. The destination and six of its tourism businesses are currently nominated for nine titles at the 2026 World Travel Awards. These nominations cover categories including nature, sustainability, luxury, weddings, and aviation. Specific nominees include the destination itself for leading green and nature categories, as well as several luxury resorts and SVG Air for private jet charter services.

Parallel to these accolades, the government is in discussions with two new international airlines interested in entering the local market. Tourism Minister Kishore Shallow noted that the interest is driven by steady passenger growth. To support this potential increase in connectivity, the government is focusing on hotel development to ensure sufficient room stock, with plans to secure at least five major brand-name hotels to meet rising demand.
