St. Vincent and the Grenadines inherits $10M debt to JetBlue

The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has inherited a debt exceeding $10 million owed to JetBlue. During a parliamentary session, Minister of Tourism Kishore Shallow attributed the outstanding balance to the previous administration, citing “irresponsible leadership” and a poorly negotiated agreement made without professional oversight.

Shallow stated that the previous government reportedly refused to pay bills starting in 2024 until they left office. Despite the financial dispute, the Minister noted that JetBlue remains a vital airline for the nation.

Recent data presented to Parliament indicates that JetBlue passenger traffic has grown under the current administration. Average arriving passengers per flight increased from 114 in the first three months to 140 in the most recent three-month period.
