St Vincent approves 2,466 national tuition scholarships

The Government of St Vincent has approved 2,466 tuition scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year under the National Tuition Scholarship Program. Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday announced the cohort during a parliamentary sitting, noting that the number is a slight decrease from the previous year's 2,566 recipients.

Prime Minister Friday stated that all applicants meeting the basic criteria were approved. Regarding budgetary allocations, the Prime Minister noted that exact funding figures will be determined following the submission of official estimates from the personnel department. He emphasized a commitment to administrative accuracy, contrasting the current approach with previous administrations that he claimed failed to budget realistically for the program's expansion.

Under the existing framework, individual tuition scholarships are subject to a maximum cap of $25,000 Eastern Caribbean Dollars (EC$).
