Staša Košarac calls for preserving East Sarajevo's demographic structure

Staša Košarac, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, has called for the preservation of the demographic structure of East Sarajevo. Speaking to journalists at Jahorina, Košarac emphasized the need to regulate residential construction to prevent changes to the city's character.

He noted that East Sarajevo holds traditional and historical value for the Serbian people, stemming from the period between 1992 and 1995. Košarac argued that preserving this demographic makeup does not mean threatening Bosniaks or any other ethnic group.

Additionally, Košarac criticized the local authorities in Istočna Ilidža, led by the SDS, for making land available to Sarajevo-based investors. He suggested that instead of selling land to outside businessmen, local communities and Republika Srpska institutions should collaborate to build housing for young couples and medical professionals.
