Staatsbosbeheer announces guided nature walks in the Netherlands

Staatsbosbeheer is organizing several guided nature walks in the Netherlands during August 2026.

On Friday, August 28, a full moon walk will take place in National Park De Groote Peel. Starting from the Buitencentrum De Pelen in Ospel, the 2.5 km guided tour begins at 20:00. The event focuses on experiencing the landscape under moonlight and includes a drink after the walk. Registration is required.

On Sunday, August 23, a summer walk will be held in the Drents-Friese Wold, starting from the Buitencentrum in Appelscha at 13:30. This approximately 2-hour guided walk covers about 5 km through forests and heathlands, highlighting how recent drought has accelerated the transition toward autumn. The walk is family-friendly, though dogs are not permitted except for certified service animals.
