Staatsolie funds renovation of AdeKUS technical faculty buildings

Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N. V. has launched a substantial investment project to fully renovate two key buildings at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS). The project focuses on the Faculty of Technological Sciences (FTeW), specifically targeting the woodworking hall and the mechanical engineering hall.

The woodworking hall, which had been unusable for years due to its poor condition, will be transformed into modern lecture halls for electrical engineering and mechanical engineering students. Additionally, the existing lecture hall and practical spaces for mechanical engineering will undergo extensive repairs. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of this year, providing approximately 200 students with a safe and contemporary learning environment.

This initiative is part of Staatsolie’s social responsibility programs marking its 45th anniversary under the motto ‘Empowering communities and institutions’. The company noted that the investment aims to develop the technical talent required to support Suriname’s emerging offshore oil and gas sector.
