Staatstheater Cottbus launches new season with light installation

The Staatstheater Cottbus celebrated the start of its new season with a premiere of William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and a specialized light installation. Following the theatrical performance, the facade of the Großen Haus at Schillerplatz served as a canvas for light projections.

Light artist Gregor Eisenmann utilized multiple projectors to display ornaments, lines, and imagery from the production onto the building's exterior. The installation included scenes from the play and visual elements such as a panther team and lions, effectively bringing the interior themes of the theater to the outside walls.
