Stabbing incidents in Istanbul and Kocaeli lead to arrests and court delays

In Istanbul, a suspect identified as B. H. was arrested in Esenyurt following a fatal stabbing in the Avcılar district. The incident, which occurred on October 23 in the Ambarlı neighborhood, stemmed from a long-standing grudge. During the altercation, Hızır İbrahim Uyanık was killed, while two others, E. Ö. and G. S., sustained injuries. Security footage captured the attack, and the suspect was subsequently charged with intentional murder.

In a separate incident in the İzmit district of Kocaeli, a court case regarding a restaurant stabbing has been postponed due to missing information. The incident, which took place on February 23, 2025, resulted in the death of İsmail Çınar and injuries to Muhammet Yiğit Ç. and Ali Z. The defendant, M. Y., claimed he swung a knife randomly to protect himself and a friend during a dispute. The court has ordered the completion of certain legal requirements before proceeding with the trial.
