Stabl Energy launches 13.7 MWh battery storage project in Austria

German cleantech firm Stabl Energy is entering the Austrian market by installing a decentralized battery storage system for energy provider Elektrowerk Schöder GmbH. The project comprises seven battery units with a combined capacity of 13.7 MWh. Four units will be installed by the end of August at the company’s central switching station, while three additional units will be placed at the provider’s power‑plant sites.

The storage solution is designed to complement existing hydro‑electric infrastructure, enhance grid stability and improve the utilization of renewable electricity. This marks Stabl Energy’s first overseas market entry and its largest project to date, illustrating the company’s European growth strategy and the growing role of battery storage in regional energy systems.
