RedotPay projects stablecoin card spending to reach $50B by 2028

Stablecoin-linked card spending is projected to reach $50 billion annually by 2028, according to the payments company RedotPay. This forecast follows a milestone in July, where monthly spending through such cards exceeded $1 billion for the first time, based on data from analytics provider Paymentscan.

Cumulative spending for stablecoin cards has surpassed $10.9 billion. RedotPay anticipates that the industry will process its next $10 billion in volume within just eight months, a significantly faster pace than the three years required to reach the initial $10 billion mark.

Growth is being driven by increased adoption in developing markets, clearer regulatory frameworks, and the utility of digital dollars for remittances, foreign exchange, and cross-border payments. RedotPay co-founder Jonathan Chan noted that Latin America currently shows the strongest adoption and growth potential, followed by Africa. The trend suggests that usage is increasingly motivated by practical needs in existing financial systems rather than general cryptocurrency enthusiasm.
