Stacey Dooley launches BBC series “Clickbait Clinic” to debunk viral health claims

The BBC has announced a new documentary series, Clickbait Clinic, presented by Stacey Dooley and featuring doctors Alex George and Nighat Arif. The programme will investigate the rise of social‑media‑driven health advice, testing the scientific validity of trends such as extreme leg‑lengthening surgery, NAD+ drips, the carnivore diet, testosterone use, methylene‑blue therapy and even controversial claims about dog deworming tablets curing cancer. Dooley aims to cut through online misinformation and help viewers distinguish evidence‑based treatments from potentially harmful hype. Dr Alex George said he is excited to explore the viral claims from both a medical and personal perspective, while Dr Nighat Arif stressed the project’s importance for patients who encounter dangerous advice in clinics. Clickbait Clinic will air on BBC One and be available on iPlayer later this year.
