Stadacona Park reopens after fire damage repairs

Stadacona Park in Victoria’s Fernwood neighbourhood has officially reopened following extensive repairs necessitated by a suspicious fire. The city announced that the space at 1490 Pandora Ave. has been restored to its previous state, with some adjustments made due to equipment availability.

The renovation project included the installation of new features such as an inclusive duo spinner, a six-foot tube slide, a three-foot sensory roller slide, and various climbing elements designed for children of different ages and abilities. The project was completed with a budget of $350,000, sourced from city contingency reserves and supplemented by $11,562 from a community fundraising campaign.

City officials noted that further landscape improvements are planned for later this year to enhance visibility and create a safer environment within the park.
