Stade Brestois to Honor Late Coach Eric Roy During PSG Match

Former Stade Brestois coach Eric Roy died on 17 June at age 58 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Roy, who led the club from 2023 to 2026, guided Brest to a third‑place finish in Ligue 1 in 2024 and secured the team’s first appearance in the Champions League knockout stage before being eliminated by Paris Saint‑Germain.

The club announced that a tribute will be held on 13 September during the Ligue 1 fixture against Paris Saint‑Germain at the Francis‑Le Blé stadium. The ceremony was moved from the originally planned 29 August match with Toulouse to ensure a larger audience. Club statements said the homage will reflect Roy’s lasting impact on the team, its supporters and the wider Brest community. Julien Lachuer, Roy’s former assistant, now heads the squad.
