Stade de Reims and Rennes reinforce attack with new forwards

Stade de Reims have signed 27‑year‑old Guinean striker Sambou Soumano on a free transfer. The forward, who left Lorient, is expected to add firepower to a side that scored only 38 goals in 34 league matches last season.

Stade Rennais announced the arrival of 21‑year‑old Spanish attacker Eliezer Mayenda on a long‑term deal running to 2031. Mayenda comes from Sunderland after playing in England’s top flight and will provide speed and depth to Rennes’ front line.

Both clubs are aiming to improve their offensive options ahead of the new Ligue 1 campaign.
